"The fierce urgency of now: Textual Dissensions and Political Dissidence: Dissent in Racial, Sexual, Gender-Related and National Identity Formations" Université Paris 7 – Denis Diderot Paris, FRANCE, Mar 23-25, 2006

Epistemology and Cross Perspectives (Cahiers Charles V, Université Paris 7-Denis Diderot, forthcoming March-April 2006) was a collective work which brought together essays written by African, European and North American researchers specialised in various disciplines of social science. The volume examined the new epistemological configuration of the object identity originating in the emergence and consolidation of African American, Queer and Gender Studies.

Besides the critical examination of a transdisciplinary perspective in terms of both its shortcomings and strengths, this collection layed specific emphasis on reflexivity and on the researchers’s subjectivity in their relation to their object of study.
