The interdisciplinary Young Scholars Network primarily involves younger researchers and scholars working in the fields of Black German, African American, African Diaspora, Critical Whiteness and Transnational Studies in comparative perspectives with a focus on Germany and combines its participants’ joint interests in the establishment and further development of new theoretical frameworks in the area of Black Diaspora Studies.

The network is chaired by Silke Stroh; it was initiated by Christina Oppel (both Englisches Seminar, WWU Muenster) and has so far been organized in close cooperation with Moritz Ege (IfEE, HU Berlin) and Silke Hackenesch (JFK Institute, FU Berlin).
