Banquet at La Coupole

The closing banquet (45 euros) will take place on Saturday April 9, 2011 in the evening at:

La Coupole

102, Boulevard du Montparnasse, 75014 Paris

www.lacoupoleparis.com

Metro: Montparnasse-Bienvenue or Edgard Quinet (line 6) / Vavin (line 4)

La Coupole is a world famous Parisian bistro dating back to the days of the historic Montparnasse of the Roaring Twenties. The beautifully restored pillars in the main room, a testimony to the creativity of over 30 artists, bear witness to the Art Deco spirit of the place. La Coupole was listed as a historical national monument in 1988.

This mythical place, opened in December 1927, welcomed numerous local and international artists including the American “expatriates” Hemingway, Fitzgerald and Josephine Baker. Legend has it that Baker was a regular La Coupole patron strolling the aisles wearing her boas, feathers and banana leaves or in company of her cheetah with whom she led the Folies Bergère revue in 1927.

Thus, La Coupole is the ideal place for the CAAR banquet. The Pop Art menu will delight our senses with a choice of hors d’oeuvres (fresh goat cheese or foie gras), main courses (cod fish or duck breast) and desserts (Chocolate fondant or mango soup with ice cream) that are both traditional and with a touch of contemporary cuisine. We’ll also have a choice of red Burgundy or Alsatian white wine and mineral water to quench our thirst with a coffee to finish off the meal.
